Today The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 580 – Grafton, held a service at the cenotaph to honour the 80th anniversary for D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
After heavy rains overnight, Mother Nature was agreeable to stop the rain just before 11am to allow the service to take place without rain gear.
Several members of the public braved the weather, mostly with umbrellas.
One lady that attended explained that her father had landed in Normandy on D-Day and in fact her son was currently in Normandy to for the 80th Anniversary service there. She was unable to attend due to mobility issues, but attended the Grafton service and took pictures to send her son.
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
